Seafood is one of the healthiest, most sustainable, and affordable proteins in the marketplace. But demand to feed the rapidly growing global population is outpacing supply. Many economies and livelihoods are dependent on healthy oceans. Without them, we cannot end poverty. Pressures for more food and livelihoods will increase. While the fate of fisheries may be uncertain, the global partnerships and innovative initiatives to sustainably source seafood are growing exponentially – and are increasingly vital. Panelists will discuss the fragility of the industry and give perspectives on partnerships and initiatives around the globe that are making the most positive difference on the world’s fisheries.
