Summary

Philippe and Ashlan Cousteau will explore some of the challenges facing our Oceans. Specifically they will share insight, first hand observations and clips from their latest expedition to Bikini Atoll in the Marshall Islands, filming a documentary for Discovery Channel's Shark Week. Bikini Atoll is notorious as the site of nuclear testing in the 1940's. Their expedition is one of the first to explore how shark populations recovered after the bombs as well as the subsequent pressure from illegal fisheries that have threatened that recovery. The Cousteau's will discuss how new technology and innovation can solve these problems and turn the tide for ocean conservation.
