Summary

The Rio Grande Valley struggles with high poverty, unemployment, low educational attainment, and development realities that leave many low-income residents disconnected from needed services and infrastructure. A unique partnership of Builders, Policy Makers, Community Organizers, Designers, and Citizens are tackling the layers of barriers and inequity low-income residents face. Central to our work is the practice of equity. What does Equity mean or look like as a practice? Equity means having a seat at the table, choice, a voice in the process, and knowledge to make better decisions. This panel will discuss the power of partnerships in fighting inequality with sustainable solutions.
