Summary

Chef Tom Colicchio will be interviewed by journalist Eliza Barclay about his adventures in Washington, DC trying to change food policy as an outsider. After opening and running several award winning restaurants, including Gramercy Tavern and Crafted Hospitality, then starring on Top Chef as head judge, Colicchio co-founded Food Policy Action and went to Washington to advocate on food issues ranging from hunger, GMO labeling, animal antibiotics, school lunches to the farm bill. He helped create a legislative scorecard that rates members of Congress on how they vote on food and farming issues and swayed a key Congressional race. Colicchio will describe his successes and failures navigating the political system and how and why the food movement needs to reach new communities to "vote food."
