Summary

As home to more than 70% of the world’s greenhouse gas emissions, cities are on the forefront in the fight against climate change. From energy saving street lighting program in Quezon City, to ambitious flood prevention efforts in Paris, to new electric vehicle infrastructure in San Francisco, cities are serving as “laboratories” for technology and policy solutions to reduce emissions, improve public health and grow economies. The Our Cities, Our Climate learning exchange, hosted by Bloomberg Philanthropies and the U.S. Department of State, convenes twenty international cities to promote climate action and innovation through the sharing of best practices and ideas.
