Summary

Brush Square Park is about to have its Cinderella moment. On Oct. 9, the brilliant minds behind Place by Design and Southwest Airlines will transform its barren landscape into a ball gown of fun, art, and interaction.

But what happens at pumpkin time?
We want to make sure the park doesn’t fall back into obscurity in a city where other public spaces are thriving. You’ll see our survey on all the PXD signage and on the SXSW Eco site, and that will fuel our discussion on how people feel when they’re in an activated space, and what they hope the park will feel like when the conference is over.

At this lab, we’ll discuss how to get attention (the pool toys) and gather input (survey results) that will lead to the ideas, your ideas (the pilot projects) to turn the forgotten into the fabulous. Who knows, these suggestions could fuel the City’s next steps for the park.
