Advanced Research Projects Agency Energy ARPA-E - Deputy Dir for Commercialization
Dr. Cheryl Martin is Deputy Director for Commercialization for the Advanced Research Projects Agency – Energy (ARPA-E), responsible for the organization’s commercialization program, helping breakthrough energy technologies succeed in the marketplace. Prior to ARPA-E, Cheryl was Executive in Residence with Kleiner Perkins.
Cheryl started her career with Rohm and Haas, where she spent over 20 years, as a Senior Scientist in the Plastics Additives and Coatings businesses. In 2000, Cheryl was named Director of Investor Relations. She later became Director of Financial Planning, where she was responsible for planning, forecasting and management reporting activities. In 2007 Cheryl was named General Manager of the company’s North America Adhesives and Sealants business and elected Corporate Vice President. Most recently she was General Manager for the Paint and Coatings Materials business in Europe, Middle East and Africa.
Cheryl earned a B.A. in chemistry from the College of the Holy Cross and a Ph.D. in organic chemistry from MIT.
