IDEO - Design Director and Communications Designer
Nick is a Design Director and Communications Designer at IDEO Cambridge, where he leads design teams towards innovative solutions that communicate the unique values of each respective client and thinks about how the intermingling of art and design can play with brand, identity, and storytelling. Over his career, Nick has worked across a multitude of industries, including media and entertainment, pharmaceuticals, consumer goods, education, and food and beverage. Most recently, Nick served as a guide to the Food + Future coLAB, a collaboration between IDEO, Target, and the MIT Media Lab whose mission is to create a future of abundant access to good food, a solid understanding of our own nutrition, and complete trust in what we eat - for us all.
Nick holds earned degrees in both Fine Arts and Graphic Design from the University of Tennessee, Chattanooga and began his career at the sustainable design firm Tricycle. He later turned his attention to his own award winning design firm called Young Monster, where he received recognition for thoughtfully combining Brand and Graphic Design with Fine Arts. Nick has received numerous awards from the Ten Show, Print, Type Directors Club, How, and Communication Arts. Additionally, his work has been displayed in numerous galleries and print publications throughout the world, including the Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum, Denver Museum of Art, Tokion and Eye Magazine.
