Kate Gordon is Vice President and Director of the Energy and Climate Program at Next Generation, a San Franciso-based think tank. Kate is a nationally recognized expert on the intersection of clean energy and economic development, with more than 15 years’ experience working at the local, state, and national level on these issues. She spent six years as the founding policy director and then co-director of the Apollo Alliance (now part of the Blue Green Alliance), working to find agreement and intersection of clean energy issues among labor, environment, business, and community based groups, nationally and in more than fifteen states. More recently, she served as Vice President for Energy and Environment at the Center for American Progress (CAP) in Washington D.C., where she still serves as a senior fellow. Kate contributes regularly to the Wall Street Journal as one of the paper's "Energy Experts," blogs for the Huffington Post, and writes a weekly update on California energy and climate news for Next Generation.
Kate has a J.D. and master's degree in city planning from the University of California-Berkeley and an undergraduate degree from Wesleyan University.
