Quick Bio

Katrina Spade is founder and director of the Urban Death Project, a new model of death care that uses nature’s principles to turn us into soil. She has a Masters in Architecture from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, and she is an Echoing Green Fellow. Katrina is a firm believer in the power of the built environment to lift us up as we grieve the loss of loved ones and face our own mortality.
