Southwest Airlines - Sr Mg/Community Outreach
Megan Lee is Senior Manager for Community Outreach at Southwest Airlines where she leads the overall vision, strategic direction, and implementation of Southwest’s successful community engagement programs - most notably the airline’s signature program, Heart of the Community.
Launched in 2014, Heart of the Community is a nationwide grant program committed to building resilient communities through the re-imagination of public spaces. Southwest is on a mission to support strong and resilient communities by creating an “open seating policy” in public spaces and building human connections. To date, the Heart of the Community program has served 18 innovative and transformative projects in partnership with the pioneering nonprofit organization, Project for Public Spaces.
A 16-year veteran of Southwest, Megan leads a team of 12 who facilitate all of Southwest’s philanthropic distribution, which in 2015 totaled nearly $20 million in combined cash and in-kind donations. Megan is a graduate of Texas A&M University and of the University of California, Berkeley Haas School of Business Executive Leadership Program. She serves on the Board of Directors of the Ronald McDonald House of Dallas. She lives in Frisco, TX with her daughter, Madeline.
