Quick Bio

Molly Reichert is an architectural researcher, designer, and educator based in Minneapolis, MN. As both a teacher and practitioner, Molly fluidly integrates the disciplines of architecture, art, design, urbanism and the exploration of our relationships to each of these. Her work output centers around connecting ideas in the design and construction of new social spaces. Molly’s ability to develop a project--from conceptual design, to digital modeling, to fabrication in physical form--has led to creative cross-fertilization with diverse collaborators, including designers, architects, artists, scientists, engineers, farmers, environmental activists and builders.

Molly’s current academic role is as a founding faculty member of the first professional Architecture degree at Dunwoody College of Technology. Her teaching combines innovative tools around digital design & fabrication with a passion for immersing students in interdisciplinary design thinking. Molly previously taught in the architecture departments of UC Berkeley, San Jose State University, and University of Minnesota. Her course instruction includes innovative and high demand skills like 3-D printing, laser cutting, and applications of CNC routers. Molly has collaborated with ceramicist Kimberly Roth in her course Digital Ceramics, engineer Marcin Jakubowski in her course FarmTECH, and arctic explorer and environmentalist Will Steger in her course Dining Wild.

Molly’s professional practice includes both collaborative and individual work. As a partner in the design collective Futures North, Molly has worked on a variety of public highly–acclaimed art projects that convey complex data through aesthetic visualization and interactive experience, including work like Phase Change, a data spatialization of our changing climate and Meander a data spatialization of the Mississippi River.
