David Levine is the co-founder and CEO of the American Sustainable Business Council. ASBC is a growing coalition of business organizations and companies committed to advancing market solutions and policies that support a sustainable economy. ASBC informs and engages business leaders, while educating legislators, decision makers and the media about opportunities and policies built on the principles of sustainability. Founded in 2009, today, the organizations that have joined in this partnership represent over 250,000 businesses. On issues ranging from climate change, sustainable agriculture, clean water, safer chemicals, fair elections, among others, ASBC is raising up the voice and power of business to create jobs, grow business and build a sustainable economy and society. 

He has worked as a social entrepreneur for over 30 years focusing on the development of whole systems solutions for a more sustainable society through building strategic partnerships and broad stakeholders initiatives. Previously, he was the Founding Director of Continuing Education & Public Programs at The Graduate Center, City University of New York. From 1984-1997, David was Founder and executive director of the Learning Alliance, an independent popular education organization.
